Visually showing this type of craftsmanship, but without an exhaustive, long-lived photoshoot that takes time and involvement in a more complex photography set. Photography is costly, and staging the flawless light and angles for dozens of products is extremely difficult. Kohler needed some intelligent, easier way to populate the image of their designs in CGI without sacrificing the quality. That is where 3d modeling, 3D animation, and CNS advanced CGI takes over.
As the world leader in luxury bathroom and kitchen products, Kohler had an opportunity to raise the bar for the way its product was presented—by articulating the essence of its products through next-generation, digital-first visuals that were on par with its design excellence.
Craftsmanship is the foundation of Kohler products: every curve, cut, finish and reflection matters. The images of these high-end kitchen and bath fixtures had to reflect that perfection.
Traditional photography and physical shoots were becoming too time-intensive, costly and logistically complex to meet the pace and variety of Kohler’s global portfolio.
The brand required high-impact, hyper-realistic 3D renders and CGI that captured the luxury essence of the products - with impeccable attention to detail, accurate materials, lighting and reflections.
At the same time, these visual assets had to be delivered quickly, work across multiple global markets, and remain consistent with Kohler’s premium identity.
In short, the challenge was to translate Kohler’s exceptional product quality into equally exceptional digital visuals—fast, flawless, and true to the brand’s premium positioning.
We aimed to translate Kohler’s design excellence into the digital world, capturing not just the products but also the stories behind their craftsmanship.
By studying each piece, its gold finishes, reflections, and surfaces, we set out to recreate them as digital masterpieces, preserving every nuance of light and form.
Through photorealistic 3D modeling, we built exact digital twins of each product. Every reflection, curve, and texture was rendered with precision, achieving realism that blurred the line between virtual and real. Next, 3D animation brought these creations to life, with faucets gliding, water flowing, and details unfolding with cinematic grace.
The result was digital storytelling through movement — transforming product visualization into an immersive art form that elevated Kohler’s innovation and design legacy.
To make the visuals even more immersive, we added subtle layers of VFX animation—like the sparkle of light on chrome or the gentle glint that suggests premium craftsmanship. These touches gave the renders a cinematic quality. For explanatory overlays and annotations we used 2D animation in conjunction with the engaging 3D scenes. The 2D animation allowed us to create videos, interactive presentations and promotional material that complemented other platforms. By using the two types of animation together we could provide both style and clarity.
Initially, our task was to produce assets for the Indian market. But once Kohler’s global teams saw the quality, they began commissioning more work. What started as a single project quickly turned into a long-term partnership. We delivered a wide range of outputs: High-quality renders for marketing and print.
